Polar Express

Happy Sunday Friends,
I'm here to tell you all about our Polar Express fun!

We began by reading the book.

Then we talked about how we would get to the North Pole.

The kiddies had amazing ideas!

Next, we did some fun activities like Roll a Pyjama and North Pole Coloring.
We also learned about trains!

Finally, we made crafts!

Do you have a Polar Express day with your class?

Santa's Closet

Hello Everyone,
I'm here to share a quick post about my Santa's Closet Unit.

I've been using it for centers, morning work, and early finishers.

My students have really enjoyed dressing Santa up in all kinds of silly outfits!

They've also enjoyed practicing reading comprehension with coloring and cut and paste activities!

I love testing their comprehension in fun ways and masking learning in silly activities.

Hey Everyone,
I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for some Five for Friday Fun!

1. The Learning Station

I just love the Learning Station and their holiday playlist has been on a loop in our classroom!

2. Student Paintings

I love the Nutcracker. In fact, my friends an I are are going to see it on Saturday!
A few weeks ago, I came across these wonderful paintings created by children.

I loooooove them all!

5. Christmas Tree Decorating

It's a tradition for me to join my best friend Leslie from First Grade Frenzy to decorate her tree. Every year we get together and decorate the tree. This year I also bought some decorations of my own. I'm going for a rustic country look!

Tales of Goblins and Latke People

Hello Sweet Friends,
I'm so excited because Friday marked the beginning of our fun festivities in grade one and grade two. We have decided to have some special days leading up to the holidays. Reindeer day, Elf day, Pj day, and Hanukah day.

To celebrate Hanukah, we started by reading Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins.

What a great read!

Then we learned about the dreidel game and played an online version on the SmartBoard.
Click on the picture to find this game online!

They also explain the rules and what the symbols mean.

Of course, everyone got some chocolate coins to eat. It was great fun!

After that, we made my Potato Latke People.

Look how cute they turned out!
You can grab a free copy of this craftivity HERE!

Finally, and in my opinion, the BEST part. We ATE potato latkes... Yummmmm, Yummmm!

It was a great day, filled with learning and fun! I hope reindeer day and elf day are just as awesome!

Until next time...

Five for Friday

Hey Everyone,
I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for some Five for Friday Fun!

1. Elf Adventures

Oh my goodness, we have the most mischievous elf from the North Pole! His name is Cookie and he likes to misbehave! He is also kinda sweet! He sends us nice reports from Santa and he leaves us little treats. We kinda really like him!

Poor little guy got stuck between the windows! Now we know how he gets in everyday! At least we have suspicions!

My favorite by far are the selfies he took and plastered all around the classroom. GOLD!

2. Online Shopping

Although I LOOOOOOVE Christmas, I despise bog crowds and grouchy people (which is all you find at the malls this time of year). I have been staying away and ordering all my gifts online! Best part is you can find even cooler gifts online and you can do it all in your pj's with a cup of hot cocoa.

3. Accessorize

Ok. Here it goes. My name is Nicole and I have bought all the leg warmers in Canada (online). I'm sorry but they are the best invention. Keeps me warm and toasty AND they are super cute! Thank you!

4. Holiday Packs

I just can't get enough of the holiday fun! Check out some of my packs!

5. Door Decorating

Many of my colleagues have decorated their doors for the holidays! Our school is looking good!

My awesome team and I made this door for one of our first grade classrooms! We absolutely loved Mel D-Seusstastic's Elf Surveillance posters and decided to create an Elf Surveillance door! It is by far, the nicest door I have ever seen (live) and had the privilege to help create! A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!!!

Here are some other cool doors! My grade 4 partner chose to "Grinchify" all the teachers who teach in his classroom. Including me!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching!
