We Love you Mr. Anderson

Hello Everyone,
Today, in Second Grade we said our final goodbyes to a very special man, Mr. Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was our physical education teacher and our friend. He was a passionate and caring man who never complained and was always smiling.

He passed away in March and our school organized a special memorial in his honour last week.
We also dedicated the bulletin board in our front entrance to him, filling it with messages of love and all of his favourite things.

Our staff, students, and community are heartbroken and we miss him very much.
He was not only an esteemed colleague, he was our friend.

Mr. Anderson was passionate about handball and he instilled that passion in many students at our school. He encouraged them to try and to never give up. He devoted his time to extra curricular activities and was happiest when our students were happy.

On the day of his memorial, our school was filed with a sea of purple. Students, past and present, wore their handball jerseys to remember their teacher and mentor.

We love you and miss you Bob.
You will forever be in our hearts.

Until next time...

  1. Hi Nicole - I am so sorry about your loss. What a wonderful tribute to a fantastic man. I know exactly how you are feeling - we lost our long time and beloved P.E. teacher to a battle with cancer a year ago last March. It was a very difficult time for both students and staff. Claire always had a saying during her PE classes - "If you had fun, then you won!" We put this saying on a tshirt for all our staff to wear during our Field Day that year. (This was Claire's favorite day of the year!) It was a great way to celebrate her life. We will wear our shirts at field day every year in memory of her. I know your memories of Bob, and your students memories will live on. ~ Lisa

    1. Thank you Lisa. What a wonderful way to pay tribute to Claire. She must have been a great woman! We named the gym after Bob and had a plaque made up. We have his silly, fun t-shirts hanging in the hallway and some people were talking about having an annual handball game in his honor (as this was "his thing"). A great loss is always hard but knowing him was a great blessing and we will cherish that.
