Quoting the Kiddies (Chapter 3)

Good Morning Everyone,
Here is my third entry for Quoting the Kiddies! I have a few funnies written down and thought I'd share them with all of you!

Setting the Scene

This one comes from my TWO year old cousin. The family is sitting in the den chatting (loudly) and eating (We're Greek - this is what we do).

Quoting Denise

Cousin Nikki, I have something imporTANENT to tell you.

Yep. It was really imporTANENT for Denise to tell me that she just HAD to hear Uptown Funk that very second. (She knows all the words btw).

Setting the Scene

It's one of the first days of school and we are completing calendar as a class. I ask students where we should tally the weather for the day. Tom jokingly says SNOW. Another student answers: "Why would he say that!?"

Quoting Tom

"MMMmmmm, I don't know. Maybe I'm a little weather blind."

You don't have to wonder anymore. Weather blindness is a thing.

Setting the Scene

It's Friday morning and I'm on supervision. Alex runs up to me with a bag filled with chocolates. "I'm selling chocolates for my hockey team Ms. Nicole!" (the paper in his bag clearly stated karate fundraiser by the way). "Here you can have one." (as he places a bar in my hand).

Quoting Alex

5 minutes later in class. "Ms. Nicole do you have my 3 dollars? Cause if not I'm gonna have to take that back. Also, do you have a fridge or somewhere cool I can put these cause they're gonna melt."

Yep, my 7 year old student sure has a knack for sales. He managed to sell 3 chocolate bars in a matter of minutes! No one could say no to that adorable face and well he also kinda didn't leave us much of a choice!

Setting the Scene

It's art class and the art teacher is teaching my students about primary and secondary colors.

Quoting Ryan

As she shows them why we mix yellow and red together, Ryan pipes up and says "This seems like a lot of work for nothing, why don't you just BUYYYYY orange?"

This little guy doesn't believe in wasting time and energy! Why make it if you can buy it!

Setting the Scene

Lunch as just ended and I am heading into class. Jordan is standing by the door.

Quoting Jordan

As I try to pass and enter the classroom Jordan says "It'll cost you one hug to pass!"

Well this one just melted my heart. That is all.

These kiddies crack me up everyday! Be sure to comment some of the funnies your kiddies say!

Until next time...

Weekend with the Girls

Hello sweet friends,
There's nothing I love more than spending a weekend away with some of my best girls!

For the second year in a row, my colleagues and I rent a condo up north in Mont Tremblant.
We do lots of walking, talking, and eating!

It's great fun!

I love living in Quebec because we have so many beautiful places to see and visit.

We had so much fun and the greatest part was that it was Winter up top and Fall down below.

And although I enjoy a little snowfall around the holidays, I was freaking out at the sudden and unexpected snowfall in the middle of October.

Luckily, we haven't had any snow since!

All and all, it was a great weekend away. Mont Tremblant is beautiful and if you're ever in Quebec, you should definitely try to make it up there!

Until next time...

Gobble, Gobble, Throwback!

Hello Sweet Friends,
Well, here in Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving in October. Our Turkeys are now tucked away in our writing portfolios and we are in full Fairy Tale mode in our classroom, but I thought I'd share some of our Thanksgiving fun with all of you today.

A Thanksgiving word wall is a must, of course!

I used it to help my students write some great TURKEY stories!
We had lots of fun making our Belly Stuffed with Stories Crafts and wrote some great things about Thanksgiving.

I love, love, love that they are thankful for their school. I tell ya, these kiddies love to learn and everything is well appreciated and received by them. Such a great bunch! They also think very highly of our staff, as they are thankful for the cleanliness of our building AND the excellent educators!
They crack me up everyday!

Our display was a big hit! Their stories are tucked inside the turkey bellies! So much fun!

The kiddies loooooooved the giant turkey. They kept saying that she was the mommy and their turkeys were the babies. It was precious. A little firstie from across the hall had me in stitches when he asked me HOW MUCH GLUE it took to make the giant turkey! It was pretty stinken cute!

This was such a fun activity. I also completed my Turkeys in Disguise Craftivity with my other group. The kiddies came up with ways to disguise the turkeys so that they wouldn't be eaten for Thanksgiving dinner! They are such a creative bunch!

You can check out my Belly Stuffed with Stories Craftivity right HERE!

You can grab my Turkeys in Disguise Craftivity right over HERE!

You can also check out my BRAND NEW Thanksgiving packs!

My favorite new Thanksgiving pack is my Build a Turkey Comprehension pack. So. Much. Fun!

What are you all thankful for this year?
Until next time...

Hello Boston!

Good Morning Friends,
There's nothing I love more than exploring a new city and that's just what I did a few weeks ago when I visited beautiful Boston!

I think the Fall might just be the most amazing time to visit any city. The colors, the weather, and the holidays just make a trip that much better!

Can I just say, the people were so friendly and the food was delicious!

On our first day, we visited Harvard. It was amazing. The grounds are incredible and the history is impressive.

While walking through Harvard Yard (sans hat), we came across a french tour group. As we were walking past, the guide asked his group to step aside. He then proceeded to point to us and state that students must always have priority to pass.

We felt pretty cool.

After our trip to the Ivy Leagues, we sauntered over to the Major Leagues!

Fenway Park is absolutely jaw-dropping!

We decided on a tour so that we could get a little bit of the history.

What a great experience.

Finally, we headed out to the TD Gardens for a hockey game.
Montreal Canadiens Vs Boston Bruins

Love my Habs and was excited to watch them play in Boston.
As you may know, the rivalry between these two teams is pretty intense!

My boys won 4-2

On our last day, we visited Salem.
I was so excited to go to Salem. We walked around, I had a reading done, we watched a 3D film about the trials, and we did a seance and a walking tour with a practicing witch!

It was a really fun way to get into the Halloween spirit!

It was a great weekend and I loved every minute of it!
Thank you to the Bostonians for being so friendly and welcoming!
What a great city!

Until next time...
