The Enchanted Classroom!

Hi Everyone,
So excited to finally share my Fairy Tale units with you!

Last Fall, we turned the class in to an ENCHANTED CLASSROOM!

I absolutely love Fairy Tales and can't wait to expand on these units with more characters!

We focused on Princes and Princesses and Knight and Dragons.
It made for some pretty creative writing and a lot of engagement from my boys.

We had so much fun writing about knights fighting dragons and princesses saving princes.
(that's right - the girls were rockstars in these stories)

We also did some centers which is always fun!

We may have also goofed around  little.

And we all lived Happily Ever After...

Until next time...

Back to School Fun!

Hi Sweet Friends,
Today in Second Grade we had some BTS fun with activities from my "Back" to School Craftivity and Back to School Read Aloud

By the end of the week we were exhausted and HOT. It's been very sunny and humid and we don't have air conditioning in our school.

I decided we needed to do some FUN and simple activities that still required us to think, read, and write.

The kiddies loved searching for BTS words during Read/Write the Room.

They were also master wordsmiths! They created as many words as they could with the letters from BACK TO SCHOOL

Finally we completed a little Read Aloud on the Smartboard and then the kiddies filled out their own.

Until next time...

Five for Friday

Hey Everyone,
I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for some Five for Friday Fun!

1. Back to School Door

I love, love, love to decorate my door! For the first day of school I decided to welcome the kiddies to second grade! It's a big deal to be a second grader and I wanted them to feel proud and great!

Of course, autographing the 2 was a must! The right of passage from first to second!

2. Meet the Teacher Night

We decided to meet parents during the first week of school so that they could know what was going on right from the start! I gave each family a folder with information about our classroom routines, the curriculum and various passwords and important tid-bits they would need throughout the course of the year.

Click HERE for a post about Meet the Teacher night and a freebie for you too!!!

3. Giddy-Up

This week we began a Cowboy theme which will bring us right into the last few days of September. We will celebrate the first month of school with Cowboy day and have us a little party!

I love, love, love everything about these packs! We are going to have SO MUCH FUN!

Click on the pictures to check out these packs! And stay tuned for some fun posts about how we're doing down on the ranch!

 4. School Mural

Every year our principal asks each class to complete a part of a school wide mural. This year we decided on student portraits. My little artists did such a great job!

I can't wait to see all the portraits up on the wall in the school entryway.

5. Healthy Teacher

I have shared with you on numerous occasions the fact that I love to work out and eat clean. I often complete the Whole30 and try to eat Paleo as much as possible.

With that being said, I'm also a huge foodie and love me some treats!
There was NO guilt in eating this meal. In fact, despite eating my weight in Naan I still look and weigh the same.

It's all about balance and moderation. Can't wait for my next treat! I'm thinking something decadent and chocolaty!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

Until next time...

Five for Friday

Hey Everyone,
I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for some Five for Friday Fun!

1. Back to School

This week was our first week back with the kiddies and it would be an understatement to say that I'm EXHAUSTED! I spent all of last week preparing for the students and all of this week getting back into Teacher Mode. An early night is in store for me tonight!

Click on the picture to read my Classroom Reveal post!

2. Hair

I have had dark hair my entire life. Long dark hair (that's not true - I did have a short do once but I grew it out immediately. Thick, wavy hair is hard to manage when cut short).

A few months ago I decided to dip my toes into coloring my hair. I wanted something understated and no fuss. I did an ombre and loved it. So last week I was a little more adventurous and lightened the ends even more! I love it!!!

Don't you think I look better in the BEFORE photo. Thought so!

3. Giddy-Up

Next week we will begin a Cowboy theme which will bring us right into the last few days of September. We will celebrate the first month of school with Cowboy day and have us a little party!

I love, love, love everything about these packs! We are going to have SO MUCH FUN!

 4. BTS/FRIENDS

Oh dear! When BTS rolls around there is so much to do that I lose track of my friends. My sweet bestie Valerie over at All Students Can Shine and I are having withdrawal! We usually text A LOT and daily. We also see one another at least once a week. The texts are scarce at the moment and we haven't seen each other since work started up again!

Here we are living it up during our Girls Trip in California!

Can't wait to see her again! And to get back to our normal routine.
Good thing I work with my other bestie/sister Leslie from First Grade Frenzy because if not I'd be having withdrawal from her too!!

5. Travels

Speaking of vacations. I am getting the itch for more!
I love to travel and luckily I have a few trips lined up this year!!!!

Here is my collection of trinkets. I love to bring back something from each country I visit (I still get something from each U.S city I visit hehe). It used to be each city but then it got to be a little much!

I just can't wait to pack my bags again!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

Until next time...
